Overview

The Economic Empowerment program strengthens the financial independence and livelihood opportunities of sex workers. Nikat supports women to build sustainable incomes, develop new skills, and reduce vulnerability to exploitation by expanding their economic choices.

Goals & Objectives

  • Increase access to alternative and supplementary income sources.
  • Provide practical business, financial literacy, and vocational skills.
  • Support women to develop viable, self-managed enterprises.
  • Strengthen financial resilience and reduce economic vulnerability.

Key Initiatives

  • Vocational and skills training in areas such as hairdressing, tailoring, baking, and handcrafts.
  • Small business start-up support and mentoring.
  • Financial literacy training and savings groups.
  • Linkages to microfinance institutions and income-generating opportunities.
